Öhlins Racing Shocks
The McPherson strut TTX46MT MkII – another high-level championship winning damper.
It has featured heavily in GT, sports car and touring car succes and is accompanied by the TTX40. The concpet of this damper features a 46 mm solid piston with a through rod of 30 mm, providing a rigid and lightweight strut. To further improve the rigidity, the outer tube is made from a special aluminium alloy.
It is four-way adjustable providing a wide range of adjustment without even taking the strut off the car. Of course it has all the benefits from a positive pressure build-up. As for the TTX40 this also comes with a Valving Reference Program.
It’s also available with a blow-off kit consisting of a new cylinder head prepared for the new kit, a valve block and a blow off adjuster. The blow off kit reduces peak loads, makes driving over curbs much smoother and in the end saves tires and reduces the risk for flat tires.
The damper can be modified to suit most of the different types of racing cars and covers a wide range of car types and models. The TTX46 is also available in a two-way adjustable version for some models, and in a club racing two-way adjustable version that together with the TTX36 creates a powerful Porsche combination.
The TTR – a high end 4-way fully adjustable damper based on winning technology from Le Mans, DTM and IndyCars.
Since the launch in 2010 the TTR quickly made it to the winners scene. Already a race winner in prototypes, Formula Nippon, GT-racing and Italian Superstars this high end racing damper gives optimal performance and thus on-track success.
Features include a precise valving system where both high and low speed can be zeroed externally to ensure accurate matching between dampers while at the same time maintain reference clicks.
The TTR damper combines top performance with user friendly handling, for instance change valving in close to one minute. The damper also comes with valving simulation software, drastically reducing time from idea to ready damper and helps making accurate adjustments at the track.
FEATURES:
– 4-way fully adjustable damper
– Solid piston
– Well proven valve technology
– Large adjustment range
– Through-rod design to minimize hysteresis
– Change valving in close to 1 minute
– Comes with valving simulation software
– Precise valving system, both low- and high speed can be zeroed externally
The four-way adjustable TTX40. Winner in Le Mans, Indy Car, touring cars, sports cars and GT-racing. Among others.
Ever since the its introduction this high-end level racing damper has been a winner in top level racing around the globe.
The TTX40 MkII twin tube damper features a 40 mm solid piston and a through rod shaft which eliminates the requirement of an external reservoir. The design is fully pressure balanced with a positive pressure build-up throughout the adjustment range, eliminating the risk for cavitation as well as enabling the use of low gas pressure, keeping the internal friction at bay. The top eye can easily be re-clocked without opening the damper.
The TTX40 MkII is a fully independent four-way adjustable damper. The MkII version also comes with a Valve Reference Program. This computer model of a dyno will allow you to find damping curves without a dynamometer. It reduces building time tremendously and allow exact damping adjustment out in the pit lane.
The TTX40 MkII is also available with a Blow Off piston kit. The advantage with this kit is that it reduces peak loads. This makes driving over curbs smother, saves tires and reduces the resik of getting flat tires.
The damper can be modified to suit most of the different types of racing cars and covers a wide range of car types and models. The TTX40 is also available in a two-way adjustable version for some models.
The demand for a light weight damper with an integral reservoir, suitable for cars like Formula 3 or old-timers paved the way for the TTX36 Inline
This made the TTX36 possible to use where it previously with an external reservoir wasn’t possible. It has since the launch in 2009 been frequently used in single seaters and in applications where external reservoirs are not allowed.
The damper has an inline reservoir with improved internal oil flow and is of a non-through rod type. The configuration out of the box is two way adjustable, one way compression and one way rebound. But it is easy to uprade it to three and even four way adjustable.
The big advantage with this damper is the integral reservoir that makes it a very compact and easy to use package. A lenght calculation program is also available that can guide you through the “build” of the damper and show all parts needed to build a complete damper for a specific need.
Five lengths are available from 283 mm up to 490 mm, measure without end- and top eye.
Combining the best of two worlds with origins in both championship winning single seaters and protypes as well as internationa bike racing.
The TTX36 has been a proven winner in single seaters and sports cars. The twin tube design providing positive pressure build-up has proven itself far superior to conventional techniques. Low internal friction, vast adjustment range and responsiveness even at the smallest strokes are among its virtues.
The TTX36 damper is a mid-range single seater and sports car damper. Focusing on adjustability, durability and ease of maintenance the TTX36 delivers performance of a high-end product at a mid-range cost.
The twin tube design together with a solid piston allows for all the damping to be generated in the external valves. This means that the adjustment range is vast just from turning the adjusters, and yet if revalving is needed it can be done without having to take the damper apart.
The adjustment knobs are located on the cylinder head, easy to reach and offfering a wide range of fully pressure balanced adjustments.
Öhlins understands the importance of relationships from beginning to end, from racers in training to experienced veterans.
It’s for this reason that we offer the TTX25 MkII FSAE: a product centered in the Formula SAE/Formula student collegiate design organizations’ demands. The TTX25 MkII FSAE uses modern twin tube technology, in a small package. The 4-way externally adjustable damper is completely serviceable by the end user, and rebuild and revalve kits are available to make the task easy. Also, available are spring kits, spare parts, specialty tools, dynamometer plots, CAD models, and other technical information.
